The program offered at the West Virginia School of Preaching is very rigorous. Classes meet six hours a day, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., five days a week, making a total of thirty hours net instruction; chapel adds 2 1/2 hours per week. After class is dismissed at 4:00, students must prepare sermons, papers, tests and other assignments for their remaining classes. For this reason long days and nights should be expected upon enrolling at the WVSOP.
Credits
Each full-time student must attend classes a total of thirty hours a week on a regular schedule. During the regular school year there will be four ten-week sessions, totaling forty weeks each year, or eighty weeks in two years.
Clock Hour Credit
On a "clock-hour" basis, during their two years of intensive study each student will spend a minimum of 2,600 hours (including class work and chapel) which is the requirement for graduation.
Previous Credit
Valuation of previous credits will be made on an individual basis. A formal assessment orĀ test may be required to complete the valuation.
